The Agency for Immigration and Mobility Affairs (AIMA, I.P.) has announced updates to its procedures for analyzing online registrations and scheduling applications for Residence Permits for Investment (ARI). The changes are designed to streamline the process by prioritizing older requests and enabling electronic submission of residence permit applications.

Under the revised policy, applicants and their legal representatives are required to complete pending applications through the ARI online portal. This step, which precedes the residence permit application, is mandated by paragraph 16 of Article 65-D of Regulatory Decree No. 84/2007, dated November 5.

To facilitate this, AIMA has made the following adjustments:

  • Applications previously marked as “under review” in the ARI portal have been automatically updated to “awaiting submission,” allowing applicants to revise and upload updated documents.
  • Similarly, applications marked as “accepted” but not yet formalized through in-person services will also be changed to “awaiting submission.”

These changes will enable applicants to update the validity of submitted documents, attach certified copies, and address other formal requirements before finalizing their submissions.

AIMA’s new approach aims to improve efficiency in processing residence permits while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Applicants are encouraged to review their applications promptly and make the necessary updates through the ARI portal to expedite their cases.

This policy update underscores AIMA’s commitment to modernizing administrative processes and addressing the needs of individuals seeking investment residence permits.
